Our Origin Story
It all started with a podcast.
After a decade in recruitment and amidst the journey of building my own Recruitment agency, a podcast I was mindlessly listening to put to numbers something scary I hadn’t considered before.
The podcast featured a recruiter who told the story of how their company had hit 4,000 placements in the same week they surpassed 1 million applicants.
Seems impressive right? But the quick, and alarming, maths on this is that that means 99.6% of applicants of the 1 million were declined.
This was more than a statistic for me; it was a wake-up call and a question - how do we adequately support the share number of people being declined for roles?
As a recruiter myself, I already know the feeling of being at capacity with the work load I have on when it comes to filling my vacancies, let alone further supporting those who miss out on the position.
Current candidate services are not just insufficiently personalised; they are ill-equipped to adapt to the dynamic job market and unique circumstances of each job seeker. So we’ve started the journey to fill the gap.

Co-founder & Managing Director
Megan Luttrell is the Founder and Director of two ventures: Mployd and Kairos Recruitment.
Megan's driving force is her passion for nurturing personal growth and removing barriers for individuals. After years in recruitment, witnessing the challenges job seekers face in navigating the job market, she witnessed how the process of recruitment often doesn’t have the capacity to truly supporting candidates to the levels they may require to secure a role.
Her mission with Mployd is to provide a solution to this problem, collaborating with experts in areas where she may not have all the answers. Megan is committed to empowering job seekers and dreamers, helping them overcome obstacles and achieve their career goals.
